an ophthalmologist, from Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, is a research and clinical fellow in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Louisville, and at Kentucky Lions Eye Center. Her focus is vitreo-retina surgery, concentrating on the disease of age related macular degeneration. She hopes to acquire surgical skills that will enable her to handle the most difficult blinding retinal diseases. Dr. Schaal is joined by her husband and four children.
